Guru Educational Trust established in Coimbatore in the year 1983 for the main purpose of imparting quality education to the aspiring students in and around Coimbatore.

In the year 1984, the Government of Tamil Nadu had granted permission to start a self financing polytechnic and thus Sree Narayana Guru Institute of Technology (SNGIT was born. This Institute (now Sree Narayana Guru Polytechnic College SNGPC) has been certified by the Government of Tamil Nadu as one amongst the best run self financing polytechnics in the state.
