Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) Scientist Honoured

Coimbatore: N. Kumar, Professor (Horticulture), Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, has been conferred the “Fellow of AIPUB” by the Association for the Improvement in Production and Utilisation of Banana (AIPUB).

He received the award from Agriculture Minister Veerapandi S. Arumugam at the national conference on banana held at Tiruchirapalli. Mr. Kumar has been recognised for his contribution in research and development in horticulture, particularly in banana.

He has standardised high density planting and fertigation technology of the fruit. He is currently involved in the process of developing two banana hybrids, capable of providing resistant reaction to Fusarium wilt and nematodes.
