University to Establish Department of Periyar Studies

Steps would be initiated to establish a Department of Periyar Studies in the Periyar University, Agriculture Minister Veerapandi S. Arumugam has said.

He was inaugurating hostel buildings for men and women at the university here on Thursday.

The Minister promised that he would also make efforts to allot funds for the establishment of the department in the coming academic year.

Research

The Minister said that the State Government would provide adequate funds to the university for infrastructure development and research activities.

Additional lands would be identified for developing more infrastructure to the university and Government College of Engineering, he said.
