Students Refuse to Reappear for AMU Admission Test
Intensifying their protest against alleged irregularities in the admission process at Aligarh Muslim University, aspirant – students on 10th October, 2012 said they would not “reappear” in an admission test that they have already “qualified”.
One of the aspirants, Faizan Khan, began an indefinite hunger strike in Aligarh.
For the past one week, admission – seekers have been holding a sit – in protest outside the Vice – Chancellor’s office protesting against irregularities in the admission test for Ph.D. students in the Faculty of Commerce.
The Vice – Chancellor, Lt. General ( Retired ) Zameer Uddin Shah, had on 5th October, 2012 night suspended the Chairman of AMU’s Commerce Department following the submission of the report by a three – member inquiry committee on the alleged irregularities.
In a memorandum addressed to the University’s Visitor, about three dozen admission – seekers have pointed out that they have been forced to intensify their stir because they are being asked to “reappear” in an admission test, for which they had qualified, “for no fault” of theirs.
The Results of the AMU MBBS or BDS Entrance Test has been declared on 17th June, 2012. To check the Results, candidates can submit his or her roll number on the Website link to view the result.
The admissions for MBBS Course will start on 7th July, 2012 between 8 am to 2 pm and the BDS admission will be on 8th July, 2012 from 8 am to 2 pm.

Aligarh Muslim University MBBS / BDS Entrance Exam on 27th May, 2012
Aligarh Muslim University ( AMU ) will conduct MBBS / BDS Entrance Exam on 27th May, 2012, application forms are likely to be used with in next week. AMU Application forms will be available both online & offline, the last date for receiving completed application forms is 24th March 2012.
AMU MBBS / BDS entrance test will be held in Aligarh, Lucknow, Bhopal, Kolkata, Kozikode, Srinagar and Hyderabad. The cost of application form will be 300 / -.
Eligibility to apply for AMU MBBS / BDS Entrance Exam
Candidates seeking admission to the MBBS and BDS course should have passed the higher secondary or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in the subjects Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English.
Candidates are required to obtain at least 50% marks in aggregate ( Chemistry, Biology and Physics taken together ) in the AMU MBBS / BDS entrance examination.
Candidate should be atleast 17 years of age.

Aligarh Muslim University invites Application for M.Phil and Ph.D Programme
Aligarh Muslim University has invited applications for its various M. Phil and Ph. D programmes. AMU admissions will be based on an entrance test to be followed by an interview.
A Master’s degree or its equivalent with a minimum score of 55 per cent in the subject of the candidates proposed area of research is the eligibility criteria. AMU application forms will be available up to 5th January, 2012. More information is available at www.amucontrollerexams.com.
The Aligarh Muslim University has also recognised seven madrassas as equivalent to its courses. Graduate and Post – Graduate courses in theology for five years has been recognised subject to the condition that the candidates taking the course have a Senior Secondary School Certificate in English.
