Anna University, Coimbatore Starts four Centres of Research

Anna University, Coimbatore, will start four centres of research, Vice-Chancellor R. Radhakrishnan has said.

Participating at the valedictory of Futura 2008, a science and technology event organised by the Bannari Amman Institute of Technology here recently, he said the centres would research on climate change, renewable energy, clean water technology and alternative energy sources.

He called upon students to take up projects in the area and said best projects will be rewarded at the University Day, to be celebrated in February 2009.

He said colleges under the University had so far obtained 35 patents and the aim was to make it 50 by December this year and 100 by December next.
