Applications invited for Kerala Common Entrance Examination 2008

The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations has invited applications for the entrance examinations for admission to medical, engineering, agriculture, veterinary and architecture courses in the State for 2008-09.

There will be separate entrance examinations for engineering and medical courses. The CEE will not conduct any entrance examination for admission to the B.Arch course. Candidates seeking admission to the B.Arch course should compulsorily appear and qualify in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture (NIASA).

The engineering entrance examinations will be held on April 21 and 22 while the entrance examinations for medical / allied courses will be held on April 23 and 24.

The Physics and Chemistry paper of the (paper-1) of the engineering entrance examination will be held from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on April 21.

The paper-2, Mathematics, will be held from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on April 22.

The paper-1 Chemistry and Physics of the medical entrance examination will be held from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on April 23 while paper-2, Biology, will be held from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on April 24.

A candidate should write both papers of an entrance examination for getting included in the respective rank list. Candidates seeking admission to B.Pharm (Ayurveda) course also should write both papers of the medical entrance examination. Admission to the B.Pharm course will be based on a separate rank list prepared on the basis of the performance of a candidate in the Chemistry and Physics paper (paper-1) of the medical entrance examination. Hence those who wish to join the B.Pharm course should compulsorily appear for this paper.

How to apply for Kerala CEE 2008

Candidates seeking admission to the architecture course should also submit the application form to the CEE. Even though there is no State-level entrance examinations, candidates should forward the NATA score and mark list of the qualifying examination to the CEE on or before June 12, 2008.

Candidates need to submit only one application form for admission to one or more medical, agriculture, veterinary, B.Pharm, engineering and architecture courses. The application fee is Rs.700 for candidates in the general category and Rs.350 for those in the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe category.

The application forms and prospectus will be distributed from 1 p.m. on January 28 to February 29, 2008 through selected branches of the Canara Bank and the State Bank of Travancore. The fee amount is to be remitted in cash at the respective centre. Application forms will not be available by post or from the office of the CEE. Candidates should ensure that the application number printed on the application form, the OMR data sheet and on the cover are the same.

Completed application forms should reach the office of the CEE on or before 5 p.m. on February 29, 2008. An extract of the prospectus will also be available on the web siteĀ www.cee-kerala.org, a press note issued here said.
