AUT plea to resolve Issues in Higher Education in Coimbatore
The Association of University Teachers has urged the Government to appoint a Special Officer “without any delay to administer C.B.M. College which has been flouting all directions of the Government and University authorities for decades together”.
In a recently held meeting of the Coimbatore and Erode zones, the association under the chairmanship of its General Secretary S. Pannerselvam passed certain resolutions pertaining to the issues in higher education.
It urged the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Vice-Chancellor of Bharathiar University to direct the management of Erode Arts College to stop victimising its teaching and non-teaching staff.
It has also implored the Government to check the management of PSG College of Technology from indulging in victimisation of its staff.
The association has further requested Vice-Chancellor of Bharathiar University C. Swaminathan to consult teacher organisations before finalising issues relating to higher education.
Its demands include declaring Chikkaiah Naicker College, Erode, as a Government College, as per the verdict of the Madras High Court.
