Courses for Women at Avinashilingam University

The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension of Avinashilingam University for Women will offer short-term courses to women belonging to Self Help Groups, housewives, school dropouts, etc.

According to a release, courses will be offered in computer application and accounting software, herbal beauty care, apparel designing, bridal make-up, embroidery, food preservation, chocolate making, sweets and snack making, etc.

Other courses in gift article making, book binding, mehendi application, jute and cloth bag making, artificial jewellery making, etc., will be offered.

NI LabVIEW Academy at Avinashilingam University

Avinashilingam University for Women entered into a memorandum of understanding with National Instruments ( NI ), India, Coimbatore on 9th February, 2012, which authorises the university to function as the company’s LabVIEW Academy.

The academy in association with the university will be responsible for enhancing research applications and developing the next generation of innovators. The programme provides a classroom curriculum package to academic institutions and supports both credit and non – credit courses.

The programme consists of three certification levels – LabVIEW Associate Developer ( CLAD ), LabVIEW Developer ( CLD ), and LabVIEW Architect ( CLA ). Each level is a prerequisite for moving on to the next level of certification.

The company provides 50 percent discount in CLAD examination fee for all students appearing for it through NI LabVIEW Academy.

The MoU was Exchanged by Chancellor of the university T.S.K. Meenakshisundaram and Academic Manager of NI Solaikutty Dhanabal.

The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension of Avinashilingam University for Women will offer certificate and short – term courses.

According to a release, certificate courses for six months will be offered in computer application and accounting software, herbal beauty care, apparel designing, and digital animation, to those who have passed Standard X.

Short – term

Short – term courses will be offered in herbal beauty care, embroidery and painting, fashion designing, bead and sequence embroidery, gift article making, computer courses, flower tying, cushion making, mehandi application, bridal makeup, jute and cloth bag making, juice, jam and pickle making.
