Common Interviews for Bank Jobs soon
If the recent reports are to become true, there will be common interviews for Bank Jobs soon. The Finance Ministry is likely to draft a plan to have centralized interview process for the Banking Jobs, IBPS is a familiar term for all bank job aspirants. Through the Common Written Exams conducted by IBPS, job seekers in banking sector needs to give one test to have them shortlisted in 19 public sector banks.
At present the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection assumes the responsibility of holding written examinations and declare the results. Selected candidates can apply for the banks accepting IBPS score, however each bank keeps it’s own cutoff marks and conduct interview process. If a candidate applies for one or more banks he has to appear or clear the selection process of the banks he or she applies.
To optimize the process and reduce the burden of giving multiple job interviews, Finance Ministry will be holding a meeting with IBPS, the autonomous body which conduct the common written exams for the participating public sector banks. A decision is expected to be taken in the meeting, the agenda is to have a common interview for all participating banks, candidates will be asked to opt in their preferences ( banks ) and as per the merit in the written test, performance in the interview the candidate will be compared to see where he or she will fit in the options given by the candidate. The candidate may or mayn’t get his first preference but for the rest of the preferences the hopes will be kept alive. Thus the candidate need not appear for multiple interviews.
