LLB Admissions commence in Brahmanand Degree College

The admission in LLB in Brahmanand Degree College had commenced. The college, situated on Mall Road, received affiliation from Bar Council of India on 4th October, 2013 to run LLB course. Earlier, the affiliation of BND College had expired, as a result, CSJM University had not included the college in LLB counselling.

“After receiving the affiliation for LLB course from Bar Council of India, we have started taking the admissions. Some of the seats have been filled but many are still vacant. The students interested in taking admission can apply,” BND College principal Vivek Dwivedi said.

The admission would continue till 20th October, 2013.

When asked about students above 30 years of age taking admission in LLB, Dwivedi said that the college was yet to receive intimation from the university in this regard. Such students are not being considered at the moment. He added that students above 30 years of age can take admission in LLB in the next academic session.

Recently, the Bar Council of India lifted the ban imposed in the state of not allowing the state universities to take admission of students above 30 years of age in LLB. The ban has been lifted now and Kanpur University is yet to receive information in this regard. Once the university gets information in writing from BCI, it would allow degree colleges to take admission of all those interested in studying law at the graduate level.
