One – Week Research Methodology Course on “Applied Research Techniques using SPSS in Social Sciences” at Jamia

The Centre for Jawaharlal Nehru Studies is organizing a One Week Research Methodology Course on “Applied Research Techniques using SPSS in Social Sciences” from 15th October, 2012, to 19th October 2012.

This is a capacity building initiative of the Centre on research methodology issues in Social Sciences. The main aim of this course is to introduce applied statistics and econometric techniques such as regression analysis, factor analysis, principal component, and other methods relevant for Social Sciences research.

The course is based on theoretical lectures and practical exercises in SPSS. This research methodology course is useful for researchers in Sociology, Political Science, Psychology, History, Economics and Interdisciplinary researchers in Social Sciences and Humanities. The Centre has invited about 30 faculty and research students from various universities of India as participants.

Prof. Atul Sood from Jawaharlal Nehru University delivered the keynote address on “Challenges of Research in Development Studies” on 15th October, 2012 at 10 AM. The inaugural session was chaired by Mr. Najeeb Jung, Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia.
