CIAL offers MBA in Aviation Business
The CIAL Academy under the Cochin International Airport Limited has invited applications for a selection test for admission to its full – time regular MBA programme in aviation business management.
The course is being offered in collaboration with IGNOU. Graduates in any discipline, preferably in engineering / science with at least 50 per cent marks in aggregate are eligible to apply.
The selection is based on score obtained in the CIAL Academy Admission Test, followed by a group discussion and interview.
Other full – time regular courses offered for 2011 admissions are as follows :
Advanced diploma in airport operation management
Eligibility : Entry qualification is graduation in science.
Course Duration : one year.
Advanced diploma in air cargo management; diploma in air cargo management.
Eligibility : Graduate degree in any discipline with at least 50 per cent marks.
Course Duration : one year.
Six months’ certificate courses in airport ramp handling, rescue and fire fighting, security and intelligence.
Eligibility : Graduation / Plus Two / Diploma.
The selection to all these courses are based on admission test, group discussion / physical test and interview.

Placement time for Students at CIAL Academy
CIAL Academy, the aviation management institute run by the Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL), is bracing for a placement season for its first batch of students graduating in June this year.
According to the airport company, a big number of commercial passenger airlines, both domestic and international have already approached the institute for recruitment.
In addition, an agreement struck between CIAL and the Fujairah International Airport (FIA) is expected to provide openings for these students in the partner airport.
“The FIA is expected to visit for a campus placement in May while Jet Airways has already agreed to take a few students from the institute here”, said the institute’s official spokesperson.
In fact, the CMD of Jet Airways Naresh Goel had visited the academy campus here last month for an interaction with its students and gave an assurance to sign up a few students with engineering background.
The institute has formed a placement cell to coordinate the campus recruitments, which is currently embarking on a proposal to negotiate with certain foreign – based agencies for tie – ups.
Meanwhile, the students of various certificate and diploma courses offered by the CIAL Academy got placements in organisations such as Jet Airways, Bird Worldwide Flight Services, Air India Stats and Kozhikode airport.
Affiliated to the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), the institute offers Master’s degree programmes, advanced diplomas and short – term certificate programmes in the domain of aviation science and management.
Experts on each subject including the top brass of the airport company and faculty members from the IGNOU constitute the resource base of the institute.
The courses offered are MBA, postgraduate diploma in fire and safety management, advanced diploma in air cargo management, airport operations management, and airport ramp handling.
In addition, various other short – term certificate training courses are also offered in airport ramp handling, rescue and fire fighting, and security and intelligence.
By establishing the institute, CIAL intends to impart training in airport operations, design, and construction and business management and develop quality human resource in the segment of aviation.
