International Conference of School Principals 2013

Principals FORUM & TeacherSITY, in association with Uttarakhand Technical University, CBSE, NCERT and NUEPA is going to organize a two day ‘International Conference of School Principals’ in New Delhi, on 18th October, 2013 and 19th October, 2013.

The International Conference of School Principals 2013 Venue of the event is : PHD House, August Kranti Marg, New Delhi.

Around 500 school Principals, representatives of School Managements, Educationists and Administrators are expected to congregate to represent their regions, types and strata of school. This conference is expected to constitute a microcosm of India’s teaching professionals.

Two day Management Conference from 16th May, 2013

A Bangalore – based B – school, IFIM, is back with its annual international conference. Convergence 2013 is centred on ‘Role of innovation in business’.

The two – day event will be held at the institute’s Electronics City campus from 16th May, 2013.

Nearly 100 papers will be presented by students, professors and business practitioners during the conference.

According to D.N. Murthy, conference chair, “At the conference we plan to discuss innovation beyond the parameters of product development and focus more on innovation in business leadership.”

Six papers would be presented by students and professors of IFIM, he added.

“We have papers from MIT Sloan School of Management-Massachusetts, University of Huston, University of Evansville, University of Purdue and also a couple from Bangladesh and France,” said Prof. Murthy.

Conferences on Translation Studies, Nano Materials postponed

Two conferences planned by the Departments of English and Chemistry of Government Arts College, Tiruvannamalai, in the first week of April have been postponed.

This is owing to unexpected holiday of the college for couple of weeks following student protests on Sri Lanka issue.

Principal R. Rajasekaran told The Hindu that the State-level conference on ‘Dimensions in translation studies’ scheduled for April 1 and 2 have been postponed to 15th April, 2013 and 16th April, 2013.

Mr. Rajasekaran said that the ‘National conference on nano materials’ scheduled for 3rd April, 2013 and 4th April, 2013 has also been postponed to 17th April, 2013 and 18th April, 2013. R. Preparations on for CITU Conference 2013

Elaborate arrangements are under way for the national conference of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions ( CITU ) beginning here on 4th April, 2013.

Organising committee chairman and Communist Party of India ( Marxist ) [ CPI ( M ) ] Polit Bureau member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said at a press conference here on 29th March, 2013 that two lakh CITU workers and their families would attend a rally here on 8th April, 2013 to mark the end of the five – day conference, in which 2,000 delegates from different parts of the country would take part.

The rally would be held at Jawahar Municipal Stadium. The delegates’ session would be held at a specially arranged venue at Police Maidan here.

As part of the conference, seminars on various issues were under way, Mr. Balakrishnan said. Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan would inaugurate a seminar here on 30th March, 2013, while CPI ( M ) State unit secretary Pinarayi Vijayan would inaugurate another seminar on 2nd April, 2013.

Trade union leaders of various central trade unions would attend a trade union meet on 5th April, 2013, Mr. Balakrishnan said.


A media seminar and a cultural meet would be held on 5th April, 2013 and 6th April, 2013, respectively. Actor Kalabhavan Mani would inaugurate a history exhibition here on 28th March, 2013.

Representative of the World Forum of Trade Organisation would attend the conference, he said.

On the failure of the strike by government employees and teachers in the State, Mr. Balakrishnan said a strike’s failure did not mean elimination of the demands raised by striking employees. Moreover, only united struggles of employees and workers would yield any result, he said.

College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram organising Entrepreneurship Conference 2013

The Department of Business Administration, College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram ( CET ), is organising a national conference on ‘Entrepreneurship: disruptive change for inventing the future’ on 22nd March, 2013 and 23rd March, 2013 at Cetaa Hall, at the college.

The conference, titled Kalpatha 2013, will serve as a platform for students to interact with eminent personalities from the corporate world.

On the second day, there would be a business quiz, a release issued by the college said.

The conference is intended to make students aware of the recent trends and issues in management and to bridge the gap between the corporate world and the student community.
