Delhi emerges winner in National Student Management Games

The NIILM-CMS, New Delhi, emerged champions in the National Student Management Games, jointly organised by the PSG Institute of Management, Coimbatore Management Association and the All India Management Association at the PSG Institute of Management, Coimbatore.

According to a press release, while the winners received Rs. 40,000 as cash prize and a trophy, the first and second runners up, both from the Master School of Management, Meerut, received Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 20000 respectively. Both the teams were given a trophy also.

Record participation:

These games conducted annually since 1997 attracted a record participation of 1,100 students across the country.

The competition provides opportunity to acquire managerial skills, leadership and team work. Besides, budding managers could revisit their classroom teachings and they could also test their business acumen in a simulated environment.

The major focus of the competition was to take a synoptic view of company’s operations, to work as a cross-functional team, to harness decision making skills after reaching a consensus, to a run a company in a competitive simulated environment and taking it ahead without causing any damage to a live company. Above all, the competitors should be able to showcase the strength of their business school.

The competition was at two levels- regional and national. The regional competition was held in Kolkata, Indore, Pune, New Delhi; Bangalore, Hyderbad and Coimbatore. Totally, 278 teams participated. While 21 teams took part in the national semi-finals, nine qualified for the grand finale.
