Kumarappa Institute invites Applications for Various Courses
Dr. J.C. Kumarappa Institute of Rural Technology and Development, Madurai, has invited applications from men and women for training in various trades.
A release said those between 18 and 45 years were eligible to apply for the six-month training program in footwear and leather goods making, five months program in tailoring and embroidery, four months training in servicing of electronics and electrical equipment, three-month training in welding (arc and gas), steel furniture manufacture, fancy leather and rexin goods making, electric motor winding and two months training in toilet and laundry soap making, hand-made paper conversion and fruits and vegetable processing.
They could also apply for one-month training in detergent cake making, spices and masala powder making and electric wireman, two weeks training in screen printing, one-week training in simple chemicals making, book binding, jam jelly and pickles making and four days training in bio-manure and vermin compost.
At the end of the training program, successful candidates would be awarded Khadi and Village Industries Commission certificates. They would also be given necessary information and guidance to setup their own units.
Application form and brochure could be had from the training centre in person by remitting 25 in person or through post by sending MO for 35.
Application with name, date of birth, address, educational qualification, trade selected for training, etc. along with photocopies of certificates, passport-size photo, self-addressed envelope with 5 stamp should reach the mentioned address :
