EduSports to Reach 1,000 Schools in the Next Four Years

School sports enterprise EduSports will expand its reach from about 330 schools to around 1,000 schools in the next four years, said a top official of the company.

“We are present in 80 cities in India, Nepal and Middle East. Currently, we work with 330 schools comprising of around 2 lakh kids. In the next four years, we want to reach out to 1,000 schools and touch the 1 million kids mark,” EduSports co – founder and chief executive officer Saumil Majmudar said.

The four – year old company works with schools to deliver physical education program that is integrated into the school time table.

“The school centric model is a sustainable model because there is aggregation of kids at school and a stipulated time is earmarked for physical education. So we have developed a curriculum meant for physical education and we have around 400 staff who conduct physical education classes at these schools,”Majmudar said.

According to him, the cost of physical education services provided by his company comes to around ₹ 100/- to ₹ 150/- per kid. “Our business is profitable but the biggest challenge for the company is to convince the schools and parents that they can have a good physical education for the kids even if their school does not have the requisite space as our curriculum focuses on building fitness level and providing skills which can be done in a limited space as well,” he added.
