Engineering Fee Structure to be Finalised soon

Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) Chairman K.C. Reddy on Monday said new fee structure for engineering, pharmacy, Master of Business Administration and Master of Computer Application courses would be announced in another five days.

“We are in constant discussions with Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee to finalise the fee structure. Probably we will announce in five days,” said Mr. Reddy at a press conference here.

Ruling out fee reimbursement issue as a constraint for the delay in commencing admission counselling, he said APSCHE was awaiting the list of approved affiliated colleges from AICTE to launch the counselling.

It was mandatory for colleges to obtain admission renewal certificate from AICTE every year. Till date, of the 600 odd colleges in the State only 70 colleges have obtained extension from AICTE, he informed.

“We have not received any information from AICTE over the delay in issuing extension to colleges. Commissioner Technical Education K. Laxminarayana is leaving to New Delhi in a couple of days to sort out the issue. By all means counselling would commence in 15 days,” affirmed Mr. Reddy.

Regarding fee reimbursement for management quota seats, he replied government had to take a decision on that aspect. Twenty three new engineering colleges have come up this academic year and admissions into these colleges would be done in the second phase of counselling, he added.
