Exhibition encourages Students to bring in Innovative Solutions
The creative works of engineering and technology students, offering solutions for a simple agricultural problem to complex issues in network security, are on display at the ongoing three-day project design contest and exhibition at Bannari Amman Institute of Technology in Sathyamangalam.
The event, organised with the objective to encourage students to bring in innovative solutions to real-world problems, had attracted over 300 projects with working models from various institutions in the country.
The organisers, however, had selected 103 projects for display. Besides, students of various departments of the host institution had also displayed an array of engineering projects and working models.
A team of experts from the industries and academia would evaluate these projects and cash prizes worth 1.96 lakh would be given to the best projects under different categories.
Over 10,000 students from different schools are expected to visit the exhibition. “This will encourage school students to take more interest in the science and technology areas,” organisers said.
Apart from the engineering and technology projects, paper presentations on a variety of topics and workshops on aero modelling, automotive and engine design, robotics, semantic web and micro-controller programming are also being held.
The event was organised as part of ‘Futura 2010′.
