GU may ease PhD Entrance Passing Marks
The Gujarat University ( GU ) is likely to take the decision to modify the passing marks in the PhD entrance examination. GU decided to bring down the passing marks criterion from 50% to 35%, after students made representation on Monday.
The GU authorities have been conducting entrance examination for PhD aspirants for the past couple of years and this year’s result is likely to be declared in a couple of days.
According to sources, a group of students met vice-chancellor Mukul Shah and requested him to reduce the passing marks from 50% to 35%. The students believe that there is no need to keep such high passing marks, as most of the students, who are from Gujarati medium, are unable to score near 50%.
The students have also protested the move to compel Gujarati medium students to answer question papers in English.
Application Form Submission 16 Dec 2020 to 16 Jan 2021.
