IBPS CWE Clerk Exam Pattern 2012 – 2013

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection ( IBPS ) declared to hold the Combined Written Examination ( CWE ) for recruitment to Clerical Cadre in Public Sector Banks online. However, the examination pattern will be similar Multiple Choice Objective Type.

The 200 mark online examination will have five papers on Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability, General Awareness with special reference to the Banking Industry, and Computer Knowledge. Each paper will have 40 questions of one mark each. Candidates will be given two hours to answer these 200 questions.

Reasoning : This test to check candidate’s thinking abilities. It contains questions of various kinds, like problems in the form of figures, designs and drawings. These may be of three types: Analogies, Classification and Series.

English Language : The test is aimed at assessing the candidates’ English language. The English language ability would be tested through questions on grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms, comprehension of a passage, etc.

Numerical Ability : This test is to measure how fast and accurate a candidate is in dealing with numbers.

General Awareness : This test is designed to measure candidates’ awareness about the past and present events, socio economic developments as well as awareness about developments in the Banking Industry etc.

Computer Knowledge : This test is designed to assess a candidates’ computer knowledge.

Note : Negative Marking : For each question answered incorrectly, one-fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty. Candidates’ should therefore be careful while marking the answers.
