IIM Indore Conference on Institution Building
Indian Institute of Management, Indore ( IIM – I ) will organize a two – day conference from on “Creating and Sustaining Institutions in the Country” 2nd October, 2013.
The purpose of the conference is to reflect on institutions that have come up in this country from a broad spectrum of ownership and domain of operations. The conference will open with a tutorial on institutional building. Also, faculties from specialized institutions, central universities and institutions of social sciences will share their experiences in the experience sharing sessions.
Evolution of three top management institutions in India would be discussed in the conference. Also, a special session on academic leadership and institution building is scheduled. Experienced representatives from the practicing world from different sectors, including medical, insurance and banking, will share their experience on institution building.
Institute’s public relation manager Akhtar Parvez said that students of the institute would make a presentation on their aspirations and expectations from the institute.
On the last day of the conference, heads of academic activities of the institute would also make presentations. The conference is yet to get confirmation from secretary, Union ministry of human resources and development to inaugurate the conference. The chief guest for the second day would be member of board of governors of IIM – I, M N Buch. IIM – A professor TV Rao would address the valedictory session.
The conference will provide a unique opportunity for directors and deans to reflect on the challenges in institutional building and the experience of others.
