ICAR Entrance Test on April 14

The Indian Council for Agricultural Research has invited applications for the all – India entrance examination for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses in agriculture and allied subjects.

All seats in the B.Tech. dairy technology course in the National Dairy Research Institute and 15 per cent of the seats in the degree courses in agriculture and allied sciences in State – level agricultural universities are filled through the test to be held on 14th April, 2012.

ICAR Test Centres :

The ICAR test centres include Kochi, Mannuthy ( Thrissur ), Coimbatore, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Tirupati, and Delhi. Those who take admission outside the State of domicile are eligible to get the national talent scholarships based on the entrance examination.

Those who have passed Plus Two or equivalent ICAR examinations with physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology or agriculture and secured minimum 50 per cent marks taken together ( 40 per cent for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes and the physically challenged ) are eligible to apply for the ICAR undergraduate examination. Those appearing in the qualifying examination in 2012 may also apply.

The ICAR entrance examination for admission to postgraduate programmes will be held on 15th April, 2012. Details can be had at www.icar.org.in. Application may be submitted online also.

The last date submit ICAR application is 15th February, 2012.

Entrance Test for Agriculture Courses held

The all India entrance examination for admission into PG courses of Agriculture and allied disciplines was held at the Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University ( ANGRAU ), Hyderabad on 17th April, 2011.

The exam was conducted by the Indian Council for Agriculture Research (ICAR), New Delhi.

More than 1,900 students took the entrance test and those who get good ranks are awarded Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) for admission into prestigious institutes.

Those institutes include Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI), National Dairy Research Institute, G.B. Panth Agriculture University and other premier institutions, according to Raghavaiah, Associate Dean of College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar and P. Narayan Reddy, Superintendent of the exam.
