Indiana University launches Energy Engineering Courses
Indiana University in partnership with Purdue university has launched a new course in energy engineering and is now looking at attracting talented young students from India.
The energy engineering course is a four-year bachelor’s degree and the university has reached out to students in India, to help them prepare for careers in the rapidly expanding industry.
The university, ranked eighth in the US, provides $600,000 worth scholarships to Indian students alone annually.
While the number of Indian students heading to the US has been on the rise in the last few years, the university is looking for students from India who can participate in research activities of the university for which $285 million has been set aside for the current academic year.
Indian students have been performing extremely well in higher studies in the US, which is scholarships are extended to them. Out of the 30,000 students, the total strength of the university, 1,400 are international students, of which 222 are Indian students this year.
The Indian students also have an active Student association. Among the other recently launched courses of the university are motorsports engineering, informatics and philanthropic studies.
