ICRISAT to hold session on women entrepreneurs in agribusiness
The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi – Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) will have a special session on women entre preneurs in agribusiness as part of the 3 – day Network of Indian Agri – Business Incubation Conference (NIABI 2011) here on March 9, 2011.
The session, part of three – day conference between March 8, 2011 and March 10, 2011, would look at means of engaging entrepreneurs and members of self – help groups to set up agribusiness ventures.
ICRISAT Director – General, William Dar said in sub – Saharan Africa and South Asia, over 60 per cent of women were engaged in agriculture and in India, they performed up to 70 per cent of agricultural activities and yet their contribution was not usually recognised.
