IVDP Scholarship to Students

Integrated Village Development Program (IVDP) a non-governmental agency, headquartered in Krishnagiri, has extended Rs. 5,000 education Scholarship to 100 economically backward students from the rural areas recently.

The scholarship was christened as “IVDP – Kamarajar Memorial Scholarship”.

Kulandei Francis, President, IVDP handed over a cheque for Rs. 5 lakh to C.M. Varghese, Principal, Don Bosco College, Pannappalli village in Dharmapuri.

Mr. Francis said that the IVDP is supporting poor children from rural areas to pursue higher education.

The organisation has so far extended educational assistance to the tune of Rs. 24.2 lakhs to the children of SHG members who had scored above 90 per cent in Class X and Plus Two.

It had also extended help to the students of Auxillium College, Vellore, donated books worth Rs. 1.6 lakh to Don Bosco College, Dharmapuri, and Kitchen equipment, water treatment plant for the Auxilium College, Vellore at a cost of Rs. 28.25 lakhs.

For the welfare of the students studying in Krishnagiri district, IVDP has donated subject guides worth Rs. 37 lakh to Class X and Plus Two students and laboratory instruments worth Rs. 10.5 lakhs this year.
