College hosts ‘Microsoft DSY’
Jayamukhi Institute of Technological Sciences, Narsampet, Warangal, has hosted ‘Microsoft Dream Spark Yatra – 2011’ on 15th March, 2011 at its campus.
Over 1,000 students from various colleges of Hyderabad, Warangal and Karimnagar district have registered online for this event.
Microsoft DSY was started with an aim to cover 100 cities in 100 days – is a Microsoft Student Partners initiative, empowering students who are passionate about technology to get an insightful overview of the current trends in the software industry.
Computer Science fourth year student E. Lakshminarayana has been selected as ‘Microsoft Student Partner’ (MSP) for the year 2010 – 2011 by the Microsoft Technologies.
There are over 50 MSPs in AP and five in Warangal district. Fifteen MSPs of Hyderabad and Warangal have taken the initiative to conduct this event.
Students exposed to Web Matrix, IE9, Windows7, Windows Phone7, Visual Studio 2010 and Office 2010 softwares in this workshop. Microsoft provides latest Microsoft Software keys at free of cost to all the participants of this workshop.
The chief guest of the inaugural function, Prof. D.V.L.N. Somayajulu of NIT Warangal said, “Software Certifications will add to the value of a student during the interviews.
Students can take up Certifications such as Microsoft Visual Studio – 2010, IBM Rational Application Developer, IBM DB2 Database, Oracle Database Professional, Sun Java Certified Professional.
Students should use Digital Technologies to enhance their proficiency in addition to the regular curriculum.”
