Kumarappa Institute offers Skill Training Courses
The Dr. J.C. Kumarappa Institute of Rural Technology and Development, an institutional training centre of Khadi and Village Industries Commission, functioning from Gandhiniketan Ashram at T. Kallupatti in Madurai, has invited applications for its various short-term skill training programs that are to start from 25th October, 2010.
A release from R. Rajendran, Principal, said that the courses would comprise six-month training in Footwear and Leather Goods Manufacturing; five-month training in Tailoring and Embroidery; four-month training in Servicing of Electronics and Electronic Equipments; three-month training in Welding (arc and gas), steel furniture manufacturing, Fancy Leather and Rexin Goods making, electric Motor winding, two-month training in Toilet and Laundry Soap Making, Handmade Paper Conversion (notebooks, file, cover, carry-bag etc.), and Fruits and Vegetable Processing; one-month training in detergent cake making, Spices and Masala powder making and electric wireman, two-week training in screen printing, one-week training in Simple Chemicals making (cleaning powder, detergent powder and phenyl), book binding, Fruits Jam, jelly and Pickles making; four-day training in Bio Manure and Vermi Compost.
Men and women in the age group of 18 to 45 years having completed school education are eligible. Free hostel accommodation will be provided to all outstation candidates and KVIC certificates awarded.
