Industry – university interaction organised
The Centre for Sponsored Research and Consultancy of B.S. Abdur Rahman University organised an industry-university interaction recently.
It was aimed at fostering vibrant interaction between the university and industry in areas of collaborative research, consultancy, sharing of expertise, joint ventures in emerging fields, curriculum design to meet industry requirements and training for students.
University Vice-Chancellor P.Kanniappan inaugurated the meet.
The Registrar V.M.Periasamy said more than 80 per cent of the research funding in the universities are from government agencies. R.K.Nair, Executive Director, Lucas TVS spoke.
Training Camp conducted for Students
In an effort to encourage the students of Class X and Plus Two, the Junior Chamber International (JCI), Hosur Brindavan Nagar had conducted a special training camp in Hosur on 16th January, 2011.
The program, conducted in association with the Sri Valampuri Selva Vinayakar Thirukkoil Trust in Hosur, benefitted the students residing in V.O. Chidamabaranar Nagar, New ASTC Nagar and the HUDCO colonies.
The students were given tips on how to achieve success in the public examinations. As many as 120 students including 55 girls participated along with their parents. V. Gnanasekaran, Trustee, Selva Vinayakar Thirukkoil Trust announced that the programme will continue in future.
The trust has decided to award 10,000 to the toppers in SSLC and Plus Two in Hosur Education District from the current academic year.
Mr. Gnanasekaran said that the JCI India Foundation earlier called IJC Charitable Trust, was created for supporting the JCI India Programmes and activities for the promotion of education among the economically deprived school children.
Expert trainers from various educational institutions participated in the program and gave advice to the students.
Teachers M. Chandrasoodeswaran of Ashok Leyland School, R. Joseph, Panchayat Union School, Varaganapalli, N. Chandrasekar, Government Higher Secondary School, and Siragukal Magazine editor B. Yuvaraj spoke at the function.
