KHIT Engineering College inauguration August 29
Kallam Haranadha Reddy Institute of Technology (KHIT), a new engineering college from the stable of Kallam Group of Industries, is being inaugurated on Sunday.
The college, affiliated to JNTU-Kakinada, was set up at Chowdaravarm village on NH-5 behind Kallam Spinning Mills and will start functioning from the academic year 2010-2011.
Visakhapatnam Port Trust Chairman Ajeya Kallam will inaugurate the college, while Andhra Bank Chief General Manager R.J Vaidyanathan will be the guest of honour.
At a media conference, Kallam Group Chairman Kallam Haranatha Reddy exuded confidence that the institute would grow in ranks and contribute to the development of the nation by producing outstanding talent pool of engineering graduates.
As part of the social responsibility, the college would give scholarships to 10 outstanding students in every batch in each year, he said.
Kallam Group, which carved a niche in spinning industry, real estate and development sectors, would strive to maintain highest standards in academics, he added.
College principal B.L.N. Sastry, who is a doctorate from IIT Mumbai, assured that best standards practiced in IITs would enable the students to get cutting edge skills required for the present day job market.
College director M. Umashankar Reddy was also present.
