Special Lecture Series from March 14
The Karnataka Science and Technology Academy is sponsoring a special lecture series at the Department of Studies in Botany, University of Mysore, Manasagangotri here, from 14th March, 2011 to 16th March, 2011 featuring various aspects of the subject.
This program is part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the university.
A large number of students, researchers and faculty members of the department are expected to benefit from the series, K.A. Raveesh, professor and chairman, Department of Studies in Botany, University of Mysore, said in a statement here on 13th March, 2011.
There would be four sessions each on all three days, in which eminent speakers would present lectures.
C. Manoharachary, UGC – Emeritus professor, Department of Studies in Botany, Osmania University, Hyderabad, would inaugurate the event at 10 a.m. on 14th March, 2011 and present a lecture on ‘Curiosity in fungi’.
M.R. Sudarshan would present a lecture on ‘Vanilla – the prince of spices’. On 15th March, 2011, Lalita Gowda would talk on ‘Legume seed, Bowman – Birk inhibitors : structure function relationship’.
