English training camp will be held for 45 days at the Karnataka State Open University Mysore.

Karnataka State Open University open Call Centre for Students
KSOU offered Program to students to get can hope to get updated information they are looking for easily. The KSOU University is opening a call centre to attend to the queries of its 3.5 lakh students.
Professionally trained executive will take the call and reply the caller. There are also plans to emulate the system the Indian Railways has adopted to get the passengers information on their reservation.
The KSOU V – C K S Rangappa on 11th September, 2012 said they are facing problem in attending to the student community given their numbers. “We just cannot handle the telephone calls pushing us to look for professional assistance,” he stated.
The plan is to allow the student community to get the information at any point of the time given that there are students across India and abroad and some 50 per cent of them working.
The KSOU University is also introducing many basic Science courses so as to promote them and earn too. There is demand for such courses and experts including teaching faculty at IISc will devise the syllabus. The audio – visual study materials will be uploaded on the University’s website so that the students get experts assistance 24×7.
For practical classes, the students are required to come down to Mysore where the varsity is building a facility in its campus in Manasa Gangotri. Once the science courses pick up, the higher education institution will partner with science colleges at district and taluk centres to extend the lab facility.
Rangappa said there is huge money in the teaching of the basic science too. “We are adopting the module existing in some of the European countries,” he stated. At present, the varsity is offering some science courses, which will be scaled up next academic.
It is eyeing to reach the higher education across Karnataka and opening regional centres at all district headquarters and study centres at taluk centres. The focus will be on North Karnataka, the V – C said adding if it is followed vigorously for five years, Karnataka will top India among states in higher education.
KSOU Degree Exams put off and new dates to be announced in two days
The degree examinations of the Karnataka State Open University ( KSOU ) have been put off following a suspected question paper leak. The new dates would be announced in two days.
Political Science and Public Administration papers for the final year BA and Education paper for the second year BA students were to be held on 9th May, 2012.
The degree examinations began on 20th April, 2012 and were to be completed on 24th May, 2012.
Vice – Chancellor of KSOU K.S. Rangappa told press persons here on 9th May, 2012 that he had ordered the suspension of all degree examinations and had called for withdrawal of all question paper bundles.
There were suspicions that the history exam paper had leaked through a Collaborator of the KSOU, he said.
He hinted that the question paper leak had occurred outside Mysore.
Prof. Rangappa admitted that the packet containing the question paper bundle was found to have been broken, leading to the suspension of the exams.
He confirmed that new dates for the exams would be announced in two days.
KSOU offers KAS Training Classes
Karnataka State Open University ( KSOU ) is conducting training for aspirants to the Karnataka Administrative Services at its competitive training centre Mysore to prepare them for the preliminary examinations likely to be held in February.
