KMCC disbursed Educational Scholarship
The distribution of educational scholarship under the auspices of the Shihab Thangal Edu-cell of the Kerala Muslims Cultural Centre (KMCC), Dubai, was inaugurated by Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) State general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty here on Thursday.
Mr. Kunhalikutty said the charitable and relief activities of the IUML and its cultural wings had acquired a distinct identity.
Lauding the efforts of the KMCC, he said it had become known for its charitable activities among Gulf returnees and non-residents alike. Is relief activities extended to many areas, including hospitals, palliative care centres and educational institutions.
IUML leader M.P. Abdussamad Samadani, who distributed the financial assistance of the KMCC to disadvantaged Gulf returnees, said the IUML was the first party to organise relief and charitable activities for the poor and the needy in the State and in the Gulf countries.
Importance of Amity
Mr. Samadani the poor continued to live in misery even though the standard of living in the State had improved considerably over the past 15 years. “Hence, there is always room for greater levels of relief and charitable activities in society,” he said.
He stressed the importance of amity and peaceful coexistence among different communities for the development of the country.
Mr. Samadani also distributed financial aid for patients at the Malabar Cancer Centre.
The monetary aid for the Pain and Palliative Care Centre at Narikkuni was handed over by IUML State secretary M.K. Muneer. KMCC president Ibrahim Eletil presided.
