Lovely Professional University is the largest university with 24000 students on campus. ” Both LPU and EMC2 want to create more efficient and learned tech graduates, for the benefit of the students as well as technological growth of a country “said Mr. Somasundaram, Director – Industry Training and Certification (Global Education Services at EMC2), who was present to forge this tie up between the two organizations.

Mr. Somasundaram, the US based professional who drives the Industry training and Certification (IEC) initiative at EMC2, educated the students about the current IT Industry requirement. While delivering a lecture at Shri Baldev Raj Auditorium, Mr. Somasundaram emphasized the need to students to equip themselves with diverse skills, and not limit themselves to only on field of strength.

He said, “Today, the companies are enthusiastic about an employee who is jack of all trades and not just master of one. An IT professional can not be termed as “complete” unless he has knowledge of Software development, as well as database management, data storage and networking.

In nutshell, he needs to be equipped with all the related fields of his subject.” Ms. Rashmi Mittal, Executive Dean-LPU also emphasized the importance of continuously acquiring the latest knowledge, especially so when a student is studying technology.

Mr. Somasundaram also showed his interest in increasing the activity of the tie-ups between EMC2 and LPU (by?? How?? Mention any other plan) towards creating a technically educative and supportive environment for its students, a mutually cherished desire of both the organizations. He also awarded a cheque of Rs. 5000 and an appreciation certificate to Danish Wadhwa, a student of year of B Tech (CSE) for developing a Joint Website for LPU and EMC2. Certificates to other students were also distributed, who underwent the training organized by EMC2 at LPU campus.
