LIBA Chennai opens PGDM Program Admission 2012
Loyola Institute of Business Administration ( LIBA ), Chennai invites application for admission in to Postgraduate Diploma in Management ( PGDM ) program commencing in the session 2012.
Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree with 50% of marks from a recognized university.
Selection Procedure :
The candidates are selected based on CAT 2012 / XAT 2013 scores, group discussion and interview conducted by the institute.

Admission Test :
Apply and appear for any one of the following written tests :
- Register for XAT 2013 to be conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur on 6th January, 2013
- CAT to be conducted by IIMs during 22nd October, 2012 – 18th November, 2012.
For applying to LIBA :
- Get a demand draft ( DD ) for 1250 / – favouring “LIBA CHENNAI” payable at Chennai.
- Pay 1250 / – at any of the specified IMS learning centres and obtain the IMS receipt and Admission bulletin.
- Pay 1250 / – in cash at the LIBA admission Office in person.

LIBA Programs & Seats :
The flagship program of LIBA Chennai is PGDM of two years duration. The total number of seats offered by this program is 120.
Eligibility for LIBA :
The candidate should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university and should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
Loyola Institute of Business Administration Short listing criteria :
The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the XAT 2012 scores. The cut off for the XAT 2012 exam is 85 percentile and above.
LIBA Selection Process :
The final selection of the shortlisted candidates will take place on the basis of Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
Fees for LIBA :
The fee for the PGDM batch of 2012 – 2014 batch is 6.42 lakh. The fee has increased compared to last year which was 5.82 lakh.
LIBA Important Dates :
The last date to apply for LIBA Chennai is Monday, 20th February, 2012. The GD and PI rounds will commence from third week of March.
Business Plan Contest Awards announced
The winners and runner – up for the LIBA – TiE Chennai – EDI – NEN Pan India Business Plan Competition Awards for the student, general and social entrepreneur-ship categories were announced recently.
Ajit Balakrishnan, CEO, Rediff.com was the guest of honour. The complete process consisted of four rounds starting from submission of executive summaries, submission of interim business plans, mock investment rounds and the final presentation.
The team with Berty Thomas, Varun Mittal and Ravi Sunclaram for Project – Coastal Shipping won in the student’s category.
Anantharaman Mani, Bala Ganesh and Manu J, alumni of IIM – B, NIT – Nagpur and IIM – M respectively won in the general category. Rajkumar, Jui and Jyotika won in the social entrepreneurship category.
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam addresses Students of LIBA
Former Indian president, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam addressed the students of Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), Chennai, recently.
He attended Insight ’10 – the national management symposium organised by LIBA in association with Financial Software and Systems at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam.
Dr. Kalam began his lecture with a question to the students, “What will you be remembered for?”.
