A few matriculation schools in Tiruchengode area opposed the common quarterly examination that commenced across the State on 12th September, 2012. It is learnt that 12 private schools in Tiruchengode area asked Education Department officials to permit them to set their own questions and sought exemption from writing the common quarterly exam.

Chief Education Officer P. Ponnaiah told Press Peoples that they asked all the schools to give an indent for the common exam. “But a few matriculations schools did not give the indent, but we printed 10 per cent extra questions for those schools too.”

On 11th September, 2012, we asked those schools that had not given the indent to collect question papers from the office of the District Elementary Education Officer in Namakkal, at 7 a.m. on 12th September, 2012. It is learn that some of the schools that opposed came late to collect the question papers.
