Planning for MBA Next Year, know about Upcoming MBA Entrance Exams

MBA Entrance Exams announced for academic year 2013 are given below, the last dates to apply and website of the corresponding entrance exam is also mentioned.

GCT Coimbatore MBA Counselling 2012

The counselling for admission to MBA courses will begin on 3rd August, 2012. The first day will be for physically challenged students. It will begin at 3 p.m.

General counselling will begin on 4th August, 2012 and go on till 17th August, 2012 including Sundays. There are a total of 11,118 candidates, as against last year’s 11,694 candidates, appearing for the MBA counselling.

The minimum marks for the first day of general counselling will be 27.000.

MSc in Biotechnology
A candidate for being eligible for admission to the M.Sc. degree course in Biotechnology must have passed BSc degree examination ( with a minimum 50% of marks in the aggregate ) in degree of this University or of any other University recognized as equivalent thereto.
The learner who have either passed Bachelor`s Degree Examination of University of Mumbai in Science/Technology or equivalent Degree of any other University recognized as equivalent thereto with the following combination of subjects/s as Major and ancillary subjects :
Life Science, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Applied or Allied Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, Agriculture / Fisheries Sciences / Veterinary Science, Computer Sciences, Bioinformatics, Bachelors degree ( BE / BTech ) in Biotechnology / Bioinformatics / Information Technology.

MSc in Information Technology
A candidate for being eligible for admission to the MSc degree course in Information Technology should have passed B.Sc. Degree in Information Technology of University of Mumbai or any other recognized University with a minimum 45% of marks with With Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10 + 2 or its equivalent examination.

MSc in Nutraceuticals
A learner being eligible for admission to the MSc Degree course in Nutraceutical must have passed from University of Mumbai or any other recognized University in India with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for learners belonging to general category and 45% marks for learners belonging to reserved category or equivalent grade with any of the following science subjects up to the second year of the B.Sc. course : Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Life science, Biotechnology, Biochemistry. Alternatively learners with degree in Medical sciences or Graduation in food and nutrition sciences or Pharmacy with aggregates marks as mentioned above for BSc degrees are also eligible.

Certificate Course Remote Sensing Technolog ( RST ) and Geographic Information System ( GIS )
A candidate for being eligible for admission to such Certificate Course shall have enrolled himself / herself with the University of Mumbai and taken admission to any of the Undergraduate or post graduate courses under Faculty of Science / Arts / Commerce in the constituent / affiliated colleges/recognized institutions of the University of Mumbai.
A candidate who has already successfully passed the BA / BCom / BSc or MA / MCom / MSc degree of this University or any other University equivalent thereto shall also be eligible to enroll himself / herself for such Certificate Course, being conducted in the constituent / affiliated colleges / recognized institutions of the University of Mumbai.

1 Year PG Diploma in Remote Sensing Technolog ( RST ) and Geographic Information System ( GIS )A candidate shall have to fulfill minimum admission criterion for the One Year Post Graduate Diploma Course as given below, considering the contents of such course and the minimum maturity level of the candidates to grasp, appreciate and derive maximum benefits from such course :
Graduate in Geology, Geography, IT, Engg., & Civil Diploma Holders With minimum 45% marks.

MCom. – I ( Business Management ) ( In - house and Outsiders )A candidate for being eligible for admission to the MCom – I (Business Management ) degree course must have passed in T.Y.B.Com / Accounting & Finance / Banking & Insurance / Financial Markets / Bachelor in Business Management ( with a minimum 45% of marks in the aggregate) from University of Mumbai or equivalent degree of any other University recognized by UGC.

The rank list of candidates, who have cleared the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test ( TANCET ), has been uploaded on the website www.gct.ac.in

Candidates have been called for counselling as per the rank based on the mark secured in TANCET conducted by Anna University, Chennai. Candidates have been informed of the counselling date. Those who have applied for counselling and not received the intimation can appear based on the rank.

Candidates should pay a counselling fee of [rupee] 5,300 ( [rupee] 1,150 for SC / ST candidates ) by cash or Demand Draft drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Tamil Nadu MBA / MCA Admissions 2011, Coimbatore – 13”.

General Counselling for MBA begins at GCT

As many as 410 out of 422 candidates who attended the first day of the general counselling of the Tamil Nadu MBA Counselling got allotment letters. Twelve did not choose any college. A total of 672 were called for counselling at the Government College of Technology here on 9th August, 2011.

MBA Counselling under the single window system for admission to Government quota for management degree courses in Government, Government – aided, and self – financing engineering and arts and science colleges of Tamil Nadu for the academic year 2011 – 12 began 10th August, 2011.

The three toppers who got the allotment letters were all from Coimbatore and all three of them chose to pursue MBA in PSG College of Technology.

R. Sasipriya, the first rank holder with a TANCET score of 65.8 plans to specialise in finance and take up a career in a financial organisation. She is a computer science engineer from Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology.

S.W. Sowmiya, a B. Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, was the second rank holder with a score of 62.6.

She too plans to specialise in finance.

With the third and fourth rank holders being absent, the fifth rank holder V.D. Krishnaveni with a score of 56.6 became the third candidate to get the allotment letter.

A dual engineering degree holder from BITS Pilani who completed her course in 2005, Krishnaveni chose to do a management degree to shift her career focus from software to human resources.

The three toppers received the allotment letters from R. Sundararajan, Secretary of Tamil Nadu MBA / MCA Admissions 2011, Santhosham, Regional Joint Director of Collegiate Education, Coimbatore, and S. Palaniswami, Vice – Principal of GCT.

R. Krishnaswami, Regional Manager, State Bank of India, Region I, Coimbatore, handed over prizes to the three women on behalf of the bank.

A total of 11,694 candidates have been called for the counselling which will go on till 21st August, 2011.

On 8th August, 2011, 26 candidates got allotment letters at the special counselling held for persons with disability.
