MBA Institutes told to Restructure Courses
Management institutions should restructure their programmes and aim at developing and enhancing managerial, inter-personal, communication and decision making skills, Governor Surjit Singh Barnala said here on Tuesday.
Delivering the convocation address at the Indian Institute of Planning and Management, he said “India has made rapid strides in all spheres and is one of the fastest developing countries. We need to keep pace with the changing global scenario and equip ourselves to compete globally.”
Mr.Barnala asked management executives to apply their mind and determine the types of decision that suit specific situations at a particular point of time rather than use copy book style formula for every issue.
The All India Dean of IIPM Naveen Chamoli said that the integration of the elements of National Economic Planning in the MBA programme enabled the management graduates to understand how to raise the purchasing power of the poor and in turn ensure company’s success. The Governor gave away medals and certificates to the students.
