CEE goes ahead with Admission Schedule
The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) has asked students who received MBBS and BDS seats in the fifth round allotment to report for admission at the respective colleges on 15th September, 2010 and 16th September, 2010 even as the Kerala Private Medical College Managements Association said on Tuesday that it would not admit students before 20th September, 2010.
The CEE had published the fifth round of allotments on Monday.
A note issued by the CEE said here that medical and dental colleges should furnish the ‘non-joining’ reports to the Commissioner by 5 p.m., on 16th September, 2010.
The allotment website will open for registration / reordering of options for the sixth round of allotment on 17th September, 2010.
The sixth round of allotment will be published on 19th September, 2010.
On 20th, 22nd, and 23rd September, 2010 candidates allotted to all courses should remit the fee at the branches of the State Bank of Travancore.
On 22nd and 23rd September, 2010, candidates for all courses should report at the respective colleges for admission.
By 5 p.m. on 25th September, 2010, all colleges should submit the non-joining report to the CEE.
Candidates who received allotments in the fifth round for courses other than MBBS and BDS should participate in the sixth round of allotment and then secure admission accordingly.
Association president Fasal Gafoor said that the CEE’s move was ‘extremely ill-advised’ and one which cannot be accepted by the managements.
The colleges which have signed the seat-fee pact with the government will not admit students if they come to these colleges as directed by the CEE, he added.
A formal decision on the issue will be taken at an association meeting on Wednesday, association secretary Sajan Prasad said.
The association office-bearers are also scheduled to meet Education Minister M.A. Baby on Wednesday.
