MCI clears Medical Course admission
The Board of Governors of the Medical Council of India on Thursday formally communicated to the territorial administration its decision permitting Indira Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute to admit 150 students for medical course during the current academic year.
Home Minister E. Valsaraj, who also holds the Health Portfolio, received the order copy at New Delhi from the Board of Governors, a release issued by the Home Minister’s office said.
The MCI had earlier rejected government’s application seeking its approval to start admission during current year citing certain deficiencies and all those issues have been addressed, the release added.
With the government obtaining clearance from the MCI, the administration is gearing up the process to admit students, the release added.
