The National Institute of Open Schooling ( NIOS ), Noida released the class 10, Class 12 and Overseas students April 2013 examination time table for the year 2013. The National Institute of Open Schooling ( NIOS ) provides opportunities to interested learners by making available Courses / Programmes of Study through open and distance learning ( ODL ) mode.

The National Institute of Open Schooling ( NIOS ) formerly known as National Open School ( NOS ) was established in November, 1989 as an autonomous organisation in pursuance of National Policy on Education 1986 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development ( MHRD ), Government of India. NIOS is providing a number of Vocational, Life Enrichment and community oriented courses besides General and Academic Courses at Secondary and Senior Secondary level.

NIOS Admission Eligibility 2013 :

National Institute of Open Schooling Salient Features :

• Admission valid for five years; freedom to choose NIOS study centre; choice of subject; transfer of credits (up to two subjects passed from selected recognized boards and upto four subjects if passed through NIOS); credit accumulation; on demand examination, etc.
• Students can also take admission in off-line mode through the nearby NIOS accredited institutions (AIs) / Regional centres / sub – centres.

National Institute of Open Schooling invites application for admission to the Vocational Educational courses.

NIOS Vocational Educational Courses Specialization :

• Home Science
• Engineering & Technology
• Agriculture
• Computer and IT
• Teacher Training
• Health and Paramedical
• Business and Commerce

NIOS has also launched new courses in Construction Supervision ( Civil ), Insurance Service, Hospitality Courses with ITDC, Health and Paramedical Courses with IMA, Retail courses with McGraw Hill.

• Qualification : The entry qualifications vary from literate to 12th pass.
• Age Limit : Lower age limit is 14 years and 18 years for some courses.
• Duration : 6 month to 2 years.
• Choice of Study Centres : Freedom to choose study centre (AVI) nearest to your residence or work place, in which the course you want to study is offered.

Note :

• Admission valid for 5 years.
• Examination every six months
• Credit accumulation

NIOS Admission Application Form 2013 :

• Prospectus along with the application form at a cost of 50/- can be obtained from the Regional Centres of NIOS and any of the AVIs / SAIED.
• Other details like course fee, eligibility, address of regional centre and state wise list of AVIs / SAIED along with full details of courses offered by them can be seen in the Vocational prospectus available on the NIOS website : www.nios.ac.in.
• Last date upto : 31st December, 2012.
