Orissa board begins Class 12 Admissions from May 15
The Council of Higher Secondary Education ( CHSE ), Odisha announced that Class 12 ( plus two ) admission will begins from 15th May, 2013 for the academic session 2013 – 14.
The department said the process will cover 1,307 junior colleges across the state will begin from 15th May, 2013. There will be both online and offline application forms this year. The Higher Education department also directed the authorities of these colleges to wind up the admission process by 8th July, 2013 and start classes from 9th July, 2013.
Now both the online and offline application forms for admission will be available from 15th May, 2013, 10 days before the earlier announced date of 25th May, 2013. The last date of application will be 30th May, 2013 for online and 31st May, 2013 for offline applicants against the earlier announced dates of 9th June, 2013 for online and 10th June, 2013 for offline.
This time the department of higher education has decided to reintroduce the provision of second selection. The candidates can fill up application forms for maximum ten colleges.
The online common application forms will be available on the higher education department website www.dheorissa.in from 15th May, 2013.
While the first selection list will be published on 8th June, 2013, admissions will be held between 14th June, 2013 and 18th June, 2013. The department of higher education had earlier announced to conduct admissions between 25th June, 2013 and 27th June, 2013. Classes will begin on 9th July, 2013 compared to the earlier fixed date of 19th July, 2013. “Since the matriculation result was published earlier, we brought forward the date,” said Mihir Das, nodal officer for college admissions.
Similarly, students can collect offline common application form from the nearest SAMS resource centre college, the list of which is available on the departments website. The last date for applying online is 30th May, 2013 while for offline it is 31st May, 2013.

H. S . C Examination Result – 2013 and Madhyama Result – 2013 will be declared at 11 AM on 30th April 2013.
Odisha’s Matriculation examinations would begin from February 20 and the last date for filling up of application forms for the examinations is fixed on December 24. State Board of Secondary Education ( BSE ) President Dr DP Nanda today said the examination committee of the board has decided to complete the matriculation examination in February itself and publish the results by the end of April.
The committee has also decided that the examinations this year would be held under a new format in which the examinees would be provided with a question – cum – answer sheet. “The students would write their answers in the space provided in the question paper itself and submit the entire booklet,” Nanda said adding that the students would not be allowed to take the questions back.
“Instead, they can download the questions from the board website, which would be posted after the examinations are over,” he informed. The examinations are being preponed to allow the state students to be at par with other Boards of the?country and by declaring the results early, the successful students would be eligible to apply for higher studies in other national institutes, the BSE president said.
Early completion of Annual examinations would also pave way for early completion of supplementary examinations so that the successful students would not lose a year for higher education, he said. Nanda also made it clear that introduction of question-cum-answer sheet would help a great deal to put a check on the unsavory incidences of question leak or theft, as was witnessed in this year’s examination.
Odisha HSC Exam from 20th February, 2013
The HSC examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education ( BSE ) will commence from February 20. “We have decided to conduct the matriculation examination from 20th February, 2013 and it will conclude within one month. The results will be published in 30th April, 2013. This would enable our students to apply for their higher education in other national institutions ,”said Daksh Prasad Nanda, president of board of secondary education. He said form fill up for matriculation examination would end by December 24.
To reform the matriculation examination system, the board has decided to introduce question – cum – answer booklet in the examination. Space will be provided in the question booklet for the students to answer. “This step will help check malpractice during examination and would also put a check on the erratic evaluation of the answers by the xaminers ,” added Nanda.
Usually, matriculation examination in the state are held in the month of March every year and the results are published by June – end. Many students, who aspire to take admission in national colleges have to suffer as by the time HSC results are published admissions in reputed colleges are over.
The matriculation examination this year was dogged by controversies. The examination had to be rescheduled following theft of question papers from an examination centre. Even the results and the list of top of 100 students was leaked a day before its official announcement.
In another mismanagement, examiners were found checking answer sheets in candlelight at a centre.
Orissa HSC Results declared 2012
The results of Annual High School Certificate ( HSC ) examinations – 2012 in Odisha would be declared on 28th June, 2012.
School and Mass Education Minister Pratap Jena said Orissa, the process is complete and the results of the matriculation examinations conducted by Board of Secondary Education ( BSE ) would be out in the morning of 28th June, 2012.
Elaborate arrangements have been made for displaying the results in a number of websites to enable the students to know them without delay, he said.
Steps have also been taken to make available the results through SMS in mobile phones for the convenience of the students, the minister said.
This year’s matriculation examination was mired in controversy when it was found that some question papers of Regular stream were stolen from a centre after examinations began in the third week of March.
Beginning from 19th March, 2012 and scheduled to end on 31st March, 2012, the examination for Regular students was suspended on 21st March, 2012 after the question paper theft case came to light. A total of seven papers of the examination were rescheduled which began on 17th April, 2012 and ended in over 2000 – odd examination centres on 26th April, 2012.
While around 4.5 lakh students appeared in the examination, over 6000 of them were booked for malpractices as they were found resorting to unfair means during the examination.
Similarly, action was taken against at least a dozen of teachers and two centre superintendents for dereliction of duties during the time of the examination.
