Chemical Engineering :
Process Calculations and Thermodynamics : Laws of conservation of mass and energy; use of tie components; recycle, bypass and purge calculations; degree of freedom analysis. First and Second laws of thermodynamics. First law application to close and open systems. Second law and Entropy Thermodynamic.
Properties of pure substances : equation of state and departure function, properties of mixtures: partial molar properties, fugacity, excess properties and activity coefficients; phase equilibria: predicting VLE of systems; chemical reaction equilibria.
Fluid Mechanics and Mechanical Operations : Fluid statics, Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids, Bernoulli equation, Macroscopic friction factors, energy balance, dimensional analysis, shell balances, flow through pipeline systems, flow meters, pumps and compressors, packed and fluidized beds, elementary boundary layer theory, size reduction and size separation; free and hindered settling; centrifuge and cyclones; thickening and classification, filtration, mixing and agitation; conveying of solids.

Chemical Reaction Engineering : Theories of reaction rates; kinetics of homogeneous reactions, interpretation of kinetic data, single and multiple reactions in ideal reactors, non-ideal reactors; residence time distribution, single parameter model; non-isothermal reactors; kinetics of heterogeneous catalytic reactions; diffusion effects in catalysis.
Instrumentation and Process Control : Measurement of process variables; sensors, transducers and their dynamics, transfer functions and dynamic responses of simple systems, process reaction curve, controller modes (P, PI, and PID); control valves; analysis of closed loop systems including stability, frequency response and controller tuning, cascade, feed forward control.

PGECET 2013 Entrance Exam Pattern and Test Centres
The APSCHE ( Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education ) is responsible to conduct all the PGECET 2013 exmaination, where as Osmania University will be responsible for PGECET Admissions to various programmes or PG in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Pharmacy and Planning programmes in Andhra Pradesh.
OU is the detailed pattern of PGECET 2013 Examination :
- In PGECET examinations each paper consists of maximum of 120 minutes and 120 marks.
- PGECET question papers will be given in objective type.
- The candidates need to mark the correct answer by darkening the appropriate bubble on an OMR sheet with HP Pencil only.
- OMR answer sheets will be given to the candidates with the question booklet.
PGECET will be conducted under the three categories given below
Category 1 : Conventional Courses
The Conventional courses include subjects like- Architecture and Planning, Aerospace Engineering, Bio Technology, Bio Medical Engineering, Civil engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering,Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Pharmacy.
Category 2 : Specialized Courses
The Specialized Courses include Environmental Management, Geo Engineering and Geo Informatics, Nano Technology.
Category 3 : Inter Disciplinary Courses
The Inter Disciplinary Courses has No separate examination test will be conducted for this category
It is based on relative ranking (Percentile score0 of eligible PGECET test papers.

AP PGECET, Common Entrance exams Schedule for the academic year 2013 – 14 for all courses has been prepared by the Higher Education Council. The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education has announced the PGECET 2013 Schedule dates.
OU PGECET 2013 Eligibility Criteria :
1. The candidate should of Indian Nationality.
2. The Candidate should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh.
3. The Candidate should satisfy the local / non – local status requirements as laid down in the regulations of admission.
4. Candidate should obtain at least 50% marks ( 45% in case of candidate belongs to reserved category ) in the qualifying examination.
OU PGECET 2013 Application From Details :
- AP PGECET Online Application 2013 from 4th March, 2013.
- The AP PGECET 2013 Online Submission from 15th April, 2013 to 06th May, 2013 with the Registration fee of 500/- ( 250/- in case of SC / ST ) , the Fee Payment available with Direct Debit of Net Banking, Debit Cards and any E – seeva , Meeseva Center in Andhra Pradesh State .
- The PGECET Online application 2013 Available to Registration final Date with the Late fee Charges of 500/- to 2000/- , the Registration Late fee will paid also at E – Seva, Mee Seva Centers and also through payment gateways ( Credit / debit cards ).
- PGECET 2013 Online Application Without late fee from 15th April, 2013
- With a late fee of 500 from 29th April, 2013.
- With a late fee of 2000 from 06th May, 2013.
