Students urged to improve their English Language Skills
Students from MBA and MCA streams of Prime (MCA and MBA) College formed two The Hindu Education Plus (Eplus) clubs here on Wednesday.
Over 60 students from both the disciplines enthusiastically enrolled their names and took part in the daily activity schedule, designed by the Hyderabad-based firm SkillSpark.
Addressing the students at the launch, the Vice-Chairman of the college Shankar Asees Patra urged the students to take up newspaper reading seriously to better their English.
“You can afford to cut corners in other activities but not in your communication skills. It is mandatory to have a good hold over English language for success in life,” he said.
He advised the students to focus on three things : Subject knowledge, general awareness and personality development.
The E-Plus club concept was started by the publication to help students from rural background better their communication skills and English language.
A club comprises 30-like-minded students who are good in academics but lack proper communication skills.
The weekly club activity that spreads over one academic year, is designed by Skillspark and is intended to better the soft skills in an informal setup within the campus.
The principal of the college Prof. V. Syam and Chief of Bureau of The Hindu B. Prabhakkar Sarma spoke. The coordinator of the Eplus clubs Bhaskar Rao was present.
