After Rajasthan Technical University has joined the Association of Indian Universities ( AIU ). Besides, it will help RU students while seeking admissions in foreign universities.
The AIU is an association of major universities of India. It collectively works to evaluate the course content, facilities and syllabi. Moreover, it equates the scores of foreign universities in relation to various courses offered by the universities here.
“There are various universities abroad that recognize AIU member universities. This recognition will give an upper edge to our students while securing admissions in Masters and PHD level programmes,” said R P Yadav, the vice – chancellor of RTU, adding that it will also attract foreign students to the university.
Some prominent members AIU included AIIMS, BITS in Pilani, IIT – Guwahati, and Delhi University, to name a few. Yadav added that biggest advantage RTU will have is the academic support from other premier member universities. “The access and assistance in research works from premier partners of AIU will enhance the level of academics in our 134 affiliated engineering colleges. The AIU regularly holds conference, seminars and other competitive events among member universities and will help both teachers and students to get exposed to them,” Yadav said.
So far, the 2.5 lakh students studying in engineering and management colleges in the state were devoid of sports and cultural activities. However, the AIU membership will enable the students to participate in sports meets which are held zonal wise annually.
“RTU students can display their talent in sports. Every year, hundreds of sportsmen enrolled in our colleges but fail to continue in their respective sports in the absence of any such platform,” Yadav added.
