Programmes to mark National Technology Day at RGCB
Students from various schools in the city will participate in the events to be organised in connection with the National Technology Day celebrations at the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) in Trivandrum on 11th May, 2011.
The former Chairman of Science, Technology and Environment Committee, C.G. Ramachandran Nair, will be the chief guest at the inaugural function.
RGCB Director M. Radhakrishna Pillai will preside over the function. Terumo Penpol managing director C. Balagopal will address the gathering.
There will be presentations by eminent scientists. Tata Consultancy Services former Vice – President (learning and development) R. Narayanan will present a science quiz for students.
High – school and higher – secondary school students, in two – member teams, can take the written preliminary round. Four teams will be selected for the final.

RGCB and Terumo Penpol are jointly organising the programme.
National Technology Day is celebrated on 11th May, 2011 every year to take stock of the country’s achievements in science and technology and to inspire the younger generation to play a major role in shaping the country’s future, a press note issued here said.
