Rama Naidu Film School to start from October 08
A new film school being established in the name of filmmaker D. Rama Naidu and offering post-graduate diplomas in direction, screenplay, script-writing and cinematography, among others, will commence functioning from October 8.
Located in the premises of the Rama Naidu Studios in Film Nagar, the school offers two courses of 18 months’ duration that promise to be the most comprehensive ever, aimed at raising the bar in making quality films and leveraging technology.
When the first batch of students pass out in 2010, the three top performers will be given an offer by Suresh Productions. D. Suresh Babu, son of Mr. Rama Naidu, says the school was started to provide an organisational framework where students can learn everything about film-making with hands-on experience in the process of making movies.
There is no bar on age and while the basic eligibility is graduation, admission will be strictly on the basis of the creativity that the student displayed at the interview. “The selection process is very flexible.
For example, someone who is good at drawing or shows appreciable visualisation skills may be taken even without a graduate degree. Experience as an assistant director is also considered,” he says.
He justified the course fee of Rs. 2.5 lakh and Rs. 32,000 extra for use of equipment, saying that considering what the school offered, it would be well worth it.
Application Form Submission 16 Dec 2020 to 16 Jan 2021.
