Training for Students of Backward Districts in Software Programming
The Raman International Institute of Information Technology (RIIIT), Mysore, has organised a four-month training program in Advanced Diploma in Software Programming (ADSP) and a three-month Technology Infrastructure Services (TIS) for students of backward districts.
The Karnataka Vocational Training and Skill Development Corporation (KVTSDC) of the State Government has recognised the institute for training students from backward districts such as Bijapur, Bidar, Gulbarga, Raichur, Bellary, Koppal and Chamarajnagar as per the Nanjundappa Committee report.
Since its inception, the RIIIT has been playing a pivotal role in bridging the gap between IT industry requirements and quality talent pool graduating from educational institutions.
The institute has been focussing to provide the best innovative ICT solutions for education globally and to actively co-ordinate with the IT companies to meet their employable manpower requirement.
In the last academic year 2009-10, the institute trained 171 students and successfully placed 111 students in various software companies, including CMM-4 and CMM-5 companies.
