The managing committee of the Tamilnadu Educational Trust meeting here recently under the presidentship of Governor Surjit Singh Barnala decided to increase the number of fresh scholarships to 400 from last year's 350.
The trust formed in 1973 has been giving assistance to meritorious and economically backward students doing their graduate, post graduate and professional courses, a release here has said.
Students pursuing graduate courses get Rs. 4,000, PG students Rs. 4,500 and professional courses Rs. 5,000 per annum.

Scholarships increased from 350 to 400 for economically backward students
