Students to compete for Honours in Cyber Skills
Education Minister M.A. Baby will inaugurate the ninth State School IT Fest at Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram on 13th January, 2011.
Around 500 students who secured first and second positions in the district – level IT Fests will take part in the two – day event being hosted by the IT@School Project.
For the first time, higher secondary and vocational higher secondary students will also take part.
Digital painting, IT project, web page designing, multimedia presentation, IT quiz, and Malayalam computing are the competitions planned.
Students will get an opportunity to interact with IT experts at various sessions. All events will be on the free software platform, IT@School Project Executive Director K. Anvar Sadath said in a statement released here on Tuesday.
Minister M.A. Baby will also launch the ‘IT for all’ show, telecast by ViCTERS education channel, at the inaugural function. He will also hand over the ‘Stockholm Challenge 2010’ international award received by IT@School Project to teachers and students.
M.A. Wahid, MLA, will preside over the inaugural function. IT columnist, commentator and founder of indiatechonline.in portal Anand Parthasarathy will host a special IT show.
Toonz Animation chief executive P. Jayakumar, US Technology Global offshore operations manager Subhash Parameshwaran and National Instruments India Academy manager Solaikutty Dhanabal will take part.
Anshu Vaish, Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, will inaugurate the valedictory session on 14th January, 2011.
The new website of ViCTERS channel will be launched at the function.
