School Students can Use University Labs

When it is holiday time for college students, select high school students will be encouraged to use the university labs.

Though this project was conceived sometime back to, en-courage students to take pure science courses, the project is yet to take off.

According to the current plan, the heads of schools will be asked to identify Standard X students with an aptitude for science.

The select students will then be invited to use the labs. But, with the exams almost coming to an end, it will be tough for the school principals to identify the students.

When it was pointed out to Vice-Chancellor Prof S Ramachandran, he said that a committee had been formed to consider the method of implementation and that a letter would soon be sent to the heads of schools in this regard.

He agreed that it would be difficult to implement the project this summer, but said that it would be definitely taken up by the next holidays in December.
